Anne is interested in depicting people and the environment. Her university training in printmaking nurtured this interest and a passion for two dimensional work that uses line & space to create a back/forth motion between representation and abstraction. A constant for her is a continued challenging of her understanding of “painting” and exploring new ways paint can represent effects such as light, time, movement and climate. She prefers simplifying a moment into what is necessary, so that through objective representation there is enough room for subjective interpretation
After moving to the PNW, she has taught drawing and painting to children & adults, has a passion for working with non-violent activist groups using art to bring community together & operates an interior design collective.
Viggiano's artwork has been featured in various exhibitions, including a small group show at Soda Arts in Pioneer Square, Seattle in 2023. She was also selected for the juried exhibition "Revelations" curated by Victoria Fry for the Visionary Art Collective. She currently works out of her studio in Magnuson Park & in nature in areas around Seattle, learning the never ending nuances of the color gray.
